Sharing Our School Pepeha
Room 17 has been teaching the pepeha to the whole of Owairaka Primary School.
After all the hard work of gathering information and searching for things, it is the time to share what they have learnt. It is important to teach the pepeha to make sure that everyone knows what it means, and so that they can share it with other people to keep our history alive. They have been working very hard on the project and are never going to give up on what they’re doing. They also did a phenomenal job teaching even though it was hard to talk in front of a lot of people. Because of all the things they have done to create a pepeha they now know how important it is to have one. Some children say that it was an extraordinary experience for them.
Victoria and Elisapesi shared the pepeha and their learning journey with the school's Board of Trustees.
