Old Buildings in our community

Our group is researching old community buildings from the past. It is really interesting. On the class community walk we came across some really old buildings like the Post Office and the Epsom Baptist Church that are still being used today.

Old Post Office:

The Old Post Office in Epsom is now a real estate store. It was built in 1909. They used to have to sail the mail all the way to England if they wanted to. The journey would take around two months.

Epsom Baptist Church:

This is an old wooden church. It was built in 1907. It has a very steep roof and the seats inside the church are made of wood and are called pews.
