Cherry Farm/Hawksbury

Cherry Farm Hospital opened in 1952 and it closed in 1992, but in between that time the nurses were working hard. Sometimes the patients had to help.

The youngest patient came when he was 10 weeks old. He had a dome shaped head. His mother took one look at him and said she would have nothing to do with him.

Cherry Farm Hospital used to be a place for disabled people. When Seacliff closed they transferred all their patients to Cherry Farm Hospital.

Hawksbury/Cherry Farm today

Hawksbury is now just a little community. It still has a swimming pool but most of the houses are privately owned. It is a pretty cool place. We should know because we live there.
