Our team
We are a class of Year 10 students from Waitakere College and we separated ourselves into small groups to divide the different aspects of our school.
The different aspects of our school are:
- the history of our school
- the different cultures in our school
- different languages that people speak from different cultures
- how we celebrate our cultures
- different food from different cultures
- interviewing our grandparents for further information about their history of migrating to New Zealand
- personal migration stories.
Over the weeks we have learned communication and writing skills because some people interviewed teachers, parents, family members and the Principal. This project also allowed us to get to know our friends and class members a lot better by talking about our project and what we’re doing. This has allowed us to talk to people we don’t usually talk to in our everyday life such as the Principal.
