Sir John Logan Campbell's gift

Sir John Logan Campbell gave land to the people of New Zealand because he saw how quickly the people of New Zealand were losing land. It’s like giving away part of himself, but each bit of land he gave is not completely been taken over. Each bit still has something to remember him e.g the statue of Sir John Logan is put on land he gave. It is no longer his, but the people of New Zealand put a statue to remember who gave the land.
